Sam Planta
Sam brings people together to make an impact. For him, it’s all about the bottom line. He has a demonstrated ability to accelerate the desired organization culture and to take the steps necessary to achieve it, but he doesn’t stop there. Sam leverages the organization’s culture as a foundation on which performance and accountability can be built. He attends to the details and brings together the right people, processes, systems, and strategies so an organization can thrive today and into the future.
He has extensively been trained in organizational development, strategic planning, and interpersonal communications. He was the Chief Culture Officer for Touchstone Communities which included all aspects of organizational development.
Sam has been responsible for the design and facilitation of retreats and workshops for companies and organizations such as; Dell Computer, Houston Rockets, American Airlines, Marriott Corporation, Austin Independent School District, Southern Union Gas, Houston Independent School District, Signature Science, Arnold White & Durkee, Hitchcock Independent School District, Applied Materials, State Farm Insurance, University of Texas, Baker & Botts LLP, Silicon Graphics, Small Craig & Werkenthin P.C., Georgetown Independent School District, Davis & Wilkerson P.C., YMCA, GSC Architects, Texas Society of Architects, and the City of Austin mayor/city council annual retreat.
Sam is also a Certified Mediator through the University of Texas School of Law Dispute Resolution Center.
An active civic leader, Sam has chaired the Southwest Area Council, served as vice-chair of Communication for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, is a graduate as well as active alumni and former Board member of Leadership Austin facilitating their opening and closing retreats for 27 years. He was League Coordinator for the West Austin Youth Association, City of Austin Council appointee for the Austin Design Commission and served as District Coordinator for the National Youth Sports Coaches Association which recognized him as the nations “Outstanding Youth Sports Leader.”
